My kitty fur a Kingwood Garden

"Lynn,  I knew you were gone agin when I got up fur some brushies and brunch and no one was around fur me!"

I went up to Mansfield, Ohio to Kingwood Garden, Precious.

I have been so grateful that the mansion is always open.
Back before the 2008 Recession hit, it was free to the
public.  Then the whole place closed down for a while.

When it reopened the Garden now had a fee of $1
but the mansion was permanently closed.

Today the fee is $10 and it includes the mansion.
It is so worth the price of admission.

I go once a year for a long walk as it is 40 acres.

Most of the work is done by volunteers! I really
enjoy every moment, but I doubt if I could do all
the manual work these folks do daily.

I really can not show enough to you to show off how
absolutely lovely and peaceful this place is.
Of course, it always is hot to walk the whole area
and go into the 2 greenhouses but it is worth it.

"Really, Lynn, it can not be worth it compared
to time with me.  What's a plant gonna do fur you?
Give you legs, purrs and meows?  I think not.
Maybe stickers and thorns."

"I want to purr a Happy Birthday to Willie
who will be a kid agin tomorrow, mol."

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

40 acres is a lot to walk round, but it does look a splendid place. The entrance fee will help in the upkeep. Even with volunteers, it's expensive to maintain.

Oh, I'd have loved to have been there! $10 is cheap, definitely a bargain. I'd have taken about 500 snapshots, I'm sure. πŸ˜†

Precious, while it wasn't fair to have to wait for your brushies and brunch, it looks was an amazing jaunt!

Dearest Lynn and Precious,
What a garden indeed and talking about the tedious uptake those $ 10 are very reasonable as the mansion is included as well. But my interest would be far more the garden, to walk there and to indulge just for the moment!
You show a beautiful pergola and also pond.
Precious, this is not about kitty love but beauty as an eye candy!
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties

Looks like a lovely place to visit, and $10 isn't much at all.
May I suggest that you consider visiting a real castle in Alliance, Ohio. https://glamorgancastle.org/ The Feline Historical Museum is in Alliance too https://www.felinehistoricalfoundation.org/

WOW this is absolutely gorgeous every inch of it. Thank you letting us tiptoe thru the gardens with you. The room you shared is such a pretty shade of green and I think there is lighting near the ceiling which is such a warm highlight to the room.
Precious, I know in reality you are happy Lynn can get out and about again after she was hold up so long with the Covid.
Happy Birthday Willie

Happy Birthday to Willie! That does look like a beautiful place to visit. I can't even imagine the cost of keeping up the gardens. Brody would have kept you company Precious. XO

Oh my, what a sumptuous house and propurrty! I don't blame you for taking time to enjoy it. Sorry Precious, but Mom needs her 'me time', too. There will be enough 'Meow Time' when she gets home.

The mansion and grounds are beautiful and well worth $10. It would cost far more than that here. I hope you got extra brushies when Lynn got back, Precious!
Happy birthday to Willie!

Gosh Lynn I would most definately pay $10 to see those beautiful gardens & the mansion. How wonderful - I can just imagine how peaceful & soul restoring it is walking around all that beauty. I think these things are good for our soul.
And Yes dear Precious - you are very good for our souls too. I must pop over & wish Willie a Happy Birthday - he & my eldest son are a couple of days apart.
Wishing you both a great weekend - its trying to show us some sun here today but very chilly ... I can hear the tui's in the blossom trees. x0x
