"Lynn, you better not bring home any of these creatures.
There is only room for me!"
This a nice size garter snake in the heat of the summer.
This is slightly smaller garter snake. Can you
tell I like snakes? Of course, I have not run into
a poisonous one.
And the Llama lives with 6 cows and a few
goofy looking ducks and a few chickens.
And of course, the snapping turtle laying eggs.
I saw a couple of these in early June. I only
wish their eggs were not so susceptible to robbery.
The 'coons and skunks love egg for meals.
As this photo shows only one week after I found
the turtle laying her eggs, all dug up and eaten.
And this handsome man-cat is a regular at the same
hobby farm as the llama. He was in the midst of
taking his morning bath on the trail.
And these 2 horses are for the enjoyment of
the Chan clan at Poupounette blog!
The United States Postal Service has provided a
hitching post area for Amish drivers. It is
conveniently situated in front of an automatic
car wash.
Sadly, the Amish do not clean up the spent fuel
deposited by their vehicles. This job is left to
the unfortunate postal worker, paid with the monies
from millions of stamps.
"Pictures are one thing Lynn, but live fur and scales
are not welcome here. 'Cept fur mine of course."
I am grateful to have seen all these before
the bike wreck ended the possibilities.
I am now waiting for the bone to knit and next
year for biking.
Happy Birthday Willie, 9/21/23.
Two more animals for you.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

I did enjoy this post and the lovely photographs. What a shame the turtle's eggs are so susceptible - Nature's way of balancing the species, I suppose. Hope the break is healing well and not aching too much.
Lovely animal photos to~day Precious....
Did'nt realise you had snapping turtles...
Only a small one l know, the bigger ones
can take a mans hand or arm off...I saw
a program once where natives set traps
to catch them..huge they were...they catch
them to eat..so catching a large one could
feed a large family...wonder if they have
roast potatoes with it..HeHe! :).
Thankyou so very much for my Burfday wishes,
Bit of a busy week coming up..two occasions in
the year l enjoy...my Burfday and Christmas...!
And..It'll soon be Christmas...HeHe! I've started
buying nuts...! :O)
🎅 🎄 🎅 🎄 🎅 🎄 🎅 🎄 🎅 🎄 🎅 🎄 🎅 🎄
Since as a human I have feelings for all animals I understand both sides of giving birth and survival of eating. But it still breaks my heart when I see something it's been killed.
I bet it's actually three times a year that you really enjoy. Don't forget that roadkill BBQ that you put on. Have a great day on the 21st I'll be thinking of you.
HaHa! Oh! Yes! The annual BBQ goes without saying
really...
When someone asks what there eating...l always say...
"How wide are the tyre marks on it"....
HeHe! Are'nt l wicked...! :(.
But...I never let food go to waste..! :).
I loved all the pics, especially the horses. They were and are my first love, and I've had two horse soulmates in my life. Snakes don't frighten me (I don't think our region has any that are poisonous), though I prefer Beings with fur. :-D
Precious, is of course, the loveliest of all the critters! :-)
Good luck on Monday...I thought it was the 19th, sorry about that. Regardless of the day, I have my fingers crossed for an all-clear!
Dearest Lynn,
Hoping that the bottom pictures are the last ones with your cast on and that things have healed well!
Why do those Amish not use a diaper bag on those horses? We saw that all over Indonesia as well and it keeps the roads clean.
No, snakes do not scare me, I've photographed and filmed them crawling to the creek area from our lawn.
Hugs,
Mariette
We have the Amish here at home. The parking lots for Kroger and Walmart are sometimes a mess. It's against their religion to be polite or clean.
It is a shame other animals take the turtle eggs. Flynn once found an adder's nest and every day would bring back baby snakes. They are poisonous so thankfully he never tried to bring the mother back. Once I saw one of our black cats under the hedge struggling to bring something in. It was a huge snake! Well maybe not huge but very big. I knew it must be a grass snake because it was so big, and they aren't poisonous.
I forgot to say, I hope all goes well on Monday.
That sure a variety of critters! It's a shame the spent fuel isn't cleaned up by the vehicle owner, it should be!
So sad about the eggs :( And what a shame the Amish don't clean up so others have to do it.
Great shots of a both the wild kind and the domesticated. I love the one with the cows and llama. I've noticed in recent years that animal carers will mix different species and more often than not they get along famously. Hope that bone heals in the very near future, Lynn. At least you have another hand for patting Precious.
Cute critters except for the snake. Happy Birthday Willie ! And Precious you are your mom's one and only. XO
I like snakes, too, and #2 Son used to catch them and keep one as a pet. He wasn't allowed to keep the copperhead he caught, of course. Yes, he was a daredevil.
I'm sad about the eggs. I wish there were a way to keep the critters from eating them, but it's hard to keep them out of well built chicken coops, much less turtle nests which are out in the open.
Horses are fabulous, I used to ride and enjoyed it. The poor postal workers, though, having to clean the mess.
Thank you for joining Feline Friday!
The picture with the llama looks like the animals all gathered close for their photo... I feel bad for the turtle; it must be distressing to see that all your eggs have been eaten. At least some must survive somewhere...
Thankyou so much...! :O).
I agree. And while I don't know the customs of the Amish I am surprised they leave that for others to do. That's not right.
Precious, you are right to put your paw down on bring in fur and scales to you home! You are the one and only! I enjoyed seeing all the animals your mom came across in her bike riding and by the way...we all here want to know your mom's news when 9/21 comes. Dad used to take me fishing and I almost never failed to only get a snapping turtle on my line!
This was a good walking around the lands with a few animal surprises. But good surprises.
the kitty in the picture above looks like our Roary!!
When we lived in Pennsylvania we never encountered them being not polite and neglecting to clean up after them... SAD!
