Looking for a bit of privacy

"Lynn, pull-ease, I'm tryin' to have a bit of a wash up and then a nap."

"My tootsies are touching the ceiling."

"But I'm determined to git the job done."

I think you are headed in the right direction, Precious.
Just don't roll off from up there.  And I do wish you
would not get my insulated overalls so very furry.

The pink garden is trying to bloom.  Iris and bleeding hearts
are finished for the year, darn it.  The astilbe are starting and
so are the lilies.

How foolish of me to forget the hunger of the deer.  One
reached in over top of the tall sedum and snipped off
7 stems of buds.  Effectively stopping 28 blossoms.
As soon as I found this,  I made my egg yolk/water
spray and got the sedum in front and the lilies behind.
Deer don't like the smell of sulfur.  Now I have to keep
at it every time there is some rain.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

Precious, it always boggles my mind to see you way up there. Impressive!

Lynn's garden is looking good too, in spite of the deer. Good hack to keep them away, I didn't know that!

My little garden is going to be toast, as I'm going ahead with full fence replacement (it's all rotting). Better to ruin mine than the adjoining neighbour's, though!

Take care and have a great weekend. πŸ’•

That's an interesting concoction to deter the deer.
Furry clothes are quite the thing round here!

It's amazing that Lynn even found you way up there, Precious! It's not like you wanted to be found and needed your privacy! Your pink garden is just gorgeous!

Tryin' to hang out with Ceiling Cat, eh Precious?
My brother has tried everything to keep the deer from his gardens; wonder if he knows about sulfur smell.

I like the deer having a good meal, but there is plenty of regular - if boring - food for them. I like your natural preventative.

Jeez, Precious, you'd never catch me up high like that. Even if I did find a place like that to snooze or bathe, mom and dad would freak out and make me get down, babbling something about my weight & age and breaking bones and some crap.

There is a gentle humour running through this, especially in the line about trying to have a wash up and a nap while everything else seems determined to get in the way. The garden itself feels like it is moving through its natural cycle, with early blooms finished, others just coming into their moment, a constant turnover that keeps things shifting from week to week. The deer interruption adds a familiar kind of frustration for anyone who has tended a garden, where careful planning can be undone in a single visit, followed by that practical response of adjusting and carrying on.

Cats love to be high up, the best we can do is put a towel over anything we don't want to have to defuzz later.

Your pink garden is lovely and thanks for the tip about sulfur.

That is. HIGH level job you have there, Precious. I do hope you got the peaceful snooze afterwards.
Your flowers look wonderful, though it is always sad when something takes them before their due time. Our horse is fond of many a bloom, and has upset a few for pinching herbs from the front of a butchers shop display :)
Have a wonderful and plant safe week

Goodness, Precious! Howeffur do you get up there?
Your garden seems to be doing furry nicely, We must say! How annoying about the deer destroying so many flowers though! We love deer, but they seem to be furry destructive!

Here I am playing Catch up Lynn - "late to the party " as Willie would say!! Gosh your pink garden looks so pretty & its wonderful to see flowers while its grey & foggy & damp here today. I am sorry to read that the deer eat off the heads of the lilies - such a shame & I would be so disappointed. The lavender farm around the corner from me used to make up a similar spray to stop the rabbits digging out the young lavender plants ... & spray it along the rows.
Look at you way up high there Precious, having a wash. Yes they sure do leave a lot of fur behind them I agree.
I have arrived home to one ginger cat very happy to see me & then today she has decided its time I payed for going away & she is sulky. She will get over herself soon enough. Have a great week ahead. x0x
