Time 'er achangin'

 "I am sorry to purr that my time on the catio is coming to an end. The horrible trip to Dr. Feelbad left me is such bad shape that I have little interest in goin' out.  Lynn spent 3 days UTB with me, on her belly, to hold my noggin in one hand and brush me non-stop with the other.  The man who rubs my belly ran to the store at 5:30 AM the second morn to git me lots of lickable treats.  Nevfur evfur had 'em afore.  Lynn tried enticing me to eat one drop of lickable at a time on her fingers.  3 days later I finally felt like a short and quick trip to the rest of the house.  Now I'm eating my favorite crunchies but spending most of the day and night UTB.

"From  now on I will be gittin' my fresh air out the window

while Lynn is feeding the winter birdies and filling the 

water baths fur them."

"I miss my moths and having Chippie dare to

dart across the catio in furont of me. Now he

sits outside eatin' acorns and sticking his tongue out at me."

"He just doesn't understand I am inside plotting my 

strategy fur next Spring.  I just know he'll be thinking he's 

safe then."

"He'll be as safe as this 18 month old doe.

She doesn't know it yet, but a boy will be looking fur

her soon and furry soon.  Then she'll have babies

fur the furst time next Spring.

Lynn has had to give up the bike fur walking the

hills at home.  She's gone less time and gits lotsa

company furom the deers and skwierlls."

Orange Glow

 "Lynn, who heard of an orange Christmas tree?  What were you thinking?"

"Folks, Lynn had me working hard on this tiny

orange lit tree.  I had to rearrange the lights and

put out the Autumn dolly and gourds.

She 'bout wore out my sharp claws and I got

lotsa needle pricks."

"Lynn said we were trying for a Fall kinda

light fest or some such thing.  Mostly it keeps

me awake during leg time at night.  This thing

has been lit since late September.  Fur Halloween 

and such."

"She went a bought a brand new 5 foot 

pre-lit Christmas tree.  I will not have to do

the lightin' on it.  Just help hang ornaments. So I'm

just pawsitive my soft tender toes will not 

git prickled."

"Of course, silly Lynn wanted to show off her furiend

who lives at the water spigot outside.  She uses this tap

fur most of her bird bath filling and carrying buckets and

buckets of water during the drought.  She says this guy

never gives her any trouble and she LIKES him!  Yikes."

"I got home furom the v-e-t dental appointment with all

my pearly whites.  But they nipped my claws!

I am less itchy now at 2 weeks later, and not barking yet."

Trip to Dr. Feelbad

 "What a sorry tail I have to tail.  Lynn grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and stuffed me into a tater sack and dragged me off to the V-E-T.

"They did not git me a private room as fast a usual.  They do

not like me singing the cat song fur it makes the dogs howl.

But I had to sit in the tater sack fur 15 minutes whilst doggies

paraded by me to go git doggie baths,  boy are they nuts."

"Then the gurl took me away and the vampire nearly sucked all

my bloods out and they squeezed my tummy to make me pee.

Lynn felt wet bloomers when I got back to her.

Dr. Feelbad came in and gave me a steriod shot fur my

itchy ears as the Zyrtec is not working.  He stuck telescope down

each ear to try to see my brain and he listened to my heart.

He said it murmured to him.  I did not do that on purpose as

I really do not like to talk to strangers.  He tried to pry my

jaw open to see my tooths but I wouldn't let him.  He was 

afraid ifn he got in there, I'd snap shut like a 'gator."

"So the story is I have to git my tooths cleaned on Oct. 30 and 

it will be the last time 'cause of my heart talking.  I also git a 

chest Xray that day and my claws clipped professionally.

He says he wanted me to take steroids fur my ears but I

can not now.  So he put me on DOGGIE medicine called

Apoquil.  Lynn hopes I do not start barking."

"The only thing good that came out of this was the vet did say

he liked my cute grey nose!  When I got home I hid the rest of 

the day and that's a long time 'cause we went there super early."

"Lynn says she let you know what comes of dog medicine and

stuff."

5 Year Bloggin

 "Lynn and I have been showing off my grey onesie fur 5 years now.

We thank you all fur coming by and taking a peek at us and talking to us.  We did  not have any idea we would still be trying this fur so long."

"We hope we can keep up the good work fur the

future."

Yaking up hairballs

 "Lynn has been cleanin' up my upchuck hairballs a lot this summer. She says she's never seen me do such a job or as many."

"I've been makin' Lynn give me brushies 3

times a day, too.  My grey onesie is just sheddin'

more fur this summer."

"I have been leaving these hairballs anywhere I feel.

They have been on the patio, which Lynn says was 

the easiest fur cleanin' up. I put one on my pink rug

and the man who rubs my belly washed it fur me.

 Then there is the kitchen flooring.

 so she can just pick up and swipe with a wet cloth.

 

But the funniest is one day when she was watchin'

TV furom our chair. She did not hear me 'cause she was

watchin' Marshal Dillon. I upchucked on my beautiful.

and thankfully washable,  turquoise blankie that was a gift.

She did not hear me and when she put her bare feets down,

she stepped right in it!  I ran away, but purred a big laugh."

Well, Precious I can say I was in a predicament to get up

after I had messy feet.  I had to wipe them off on the

lovely blankie and then clean and wash it .  I will watch

where I step from now on.

We interrupt with breaking skwierl news

 "Lynn, come quick!  We got furs outside and I need to git out there to help."

"This one breached the catio fence and clumb

up the screen."

"There's a tuxie cat outside the fence.  Lookie see."

"I've seen this fellow afore."

"Lynn git this skwierl offa the door!  He's barking like crazy.

And I think the tuxie is takin' off without takin' the skwierl with him."

Sometimes we have drama here better than cable TV.

The grey squirrel hung for about 10 minutes after the cat left.

I wanted him to calm down before I tried opening the door.

His hind foot was on the screen and his front were holding

onto the porch light.  The second he heard the latch, he

threw himself off and over the 3 foot tall fence in

one fell swoop.

Apple Hog, Whistle Pig, Ground Hog, you name it

 "Lynn has been frustrated with her lack of eatin' apples this year. Oh the 2 trees were loaded early on but the critters outside have a yen fur them too."

"We gots the squirrels and the deers and then here came

the hog.  He's a chub now as he has eaten so many apples

and working on acorns now."

"The squirrels and crows just pick 'em and toss 'em after a 

bite er two.  Then chubs has his pick afore the deer herd

stampedes thru."

"Soon as the apples stopped fallin' furom the sky, he quickly

found the acorns were rainin' down like manna furom 

Whistle Pig heaven."

"Now just give me a bucket full of my

crunchies and I'll let Lynn have the apples."

Here's a short short video of some of the 

hundreds of wild honey bees I am so happy to 

see this year.  This is one flower head of dozens

I have on 9 sedum plants.  Every flower head has

had many many bees.

Above is a Great Spangled Fritillary butterfly.

No Monarchs new or old flying by.  Just the 11

that hatched and flew off into the rains of the South.

And the other good news is our Eastern Blue Birds

fledged 4 nest boxes of babies this year.  Could be 

any where from 16 to 20 babies.
