Hanging around

"See Lynn, I still have it in me to power up the tree."

I see that Precious.  It has been quite a while
since you've done a running leap like that.

"I just wanted to impress you before I drop
down and go back to bed."

The deer were a small herd of 7 right outside my kitchen window.
Two mom does with 4 fawns and one born in 2022.
Precious was inside looking out the door at them and
of course I couldn't open it for them running off.
The buck showed up in the exact same place one day later.
On the search to find the girls no doubt.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

  1. Well done, Precious. It's nice to prove you can still do it if you choose to.
The deer are a beautiful sight. How lovely to look out and see them so close.

WOW, that was indeed impressive to get on top of that tree!
And what a sight out of your kitchen window.
We only saw once two does from our kitchen bay window...

    1. Willie, we could use a little of that venison in the pot. But we can't take them down in the yard, darn it.

  6. Well done getting to the top of the tree, Precious! How nice to see the deer outside your window. We used to get them in our bottom field, but I haven't seen them for a few years now.

  8. Look at you up there Precious - proud as punch!! I think Little One would love a climbing "tree" like that .... he loves to run up & down real trees. This might keep him occupied inside. I shall show The Mr the photos of the deer right outside your kitchen window. I am wondering if they do damage like eat alot of your things Lynn? I am sure he would love to live somewhere where the deer just wandered up like that but I am not so sure I would like them eating my trees & shrubs. xx

    1. The deer are ravenous. That's why I do not grow veggies and most of my plants have to be "deer resistant" and they still taste test until things are ruined. The bucks scrape the small trees until they die.

  9. If I try to grow a few veggies, it has to be in containers. Deer ravage everything. They eat the birds food no matter what I do..that I have had to stop feeding them. Except hummingbirds I can't have \many flowers because they eat those too. No tulips are allowed...they eat them up. Squirrels behead them for no reason. Hey, I have a translation up now for you and Precious if you go back to Ramblingon.

  11. That's a high perch, great for a look-out, probably of everything in the area.

    Those deer are lovely.

Thank you for joining Feline Friday!

  12. It's wonderful to see a bit of youngster in our middle-aged friends. (I wish I had more of it myself!) My Renn and Neville show me that now and then, too. As for deer, we have a local herd that wanders through the town, watching us watch them from just a few feet away.

  14. Wow! That was a high jump for you precious! I'm not so sure Smokey could have made it...he looks just a little overweight to me. The vet says he weighs 14 lbs but I'm not so sure. Your deer are so pretty!

  16. To have such sights must be fascinating. It must, at times, be scary, too. I'd rather not be out with deer if can help it, and behind glass and up a cat tree in the warm seems perfect. I hope your snooze afterwards was nice and stag free?

  17. Well that's impressive, girlfriend! Looks like a fabulous spot from which to watch over everything, too. We have an overabundance of deer around this place and dad says every day on his way to work there's a poor new one laying on the side of the road. Unfortunately, he says, they also seem less and less afraid of humans & vehicles.
