Magazine day

"Lynn there's not a human in this magazine. Just us wonderful

kitties."

I know Precious.  It is the 1996 edition of Good Mousekeeping.
Just like the human version of Good Housekeeping.
It was meant for the homemaker cat who wanted to be up to
date on recipes, high profile interviews, test products and
short stories.

I received this one only for Christmas 1996. It is a hoot
to read.  Realistic right down to the Revelon cosmetics ads
for the glamour cats.
I think for the back cover, the lady wrote more, but I
never saw one again.
The cat photos are fantastic and the cat artwork is
remarkable to see.  Wish I could photo all 70 pages
for you to see.

"I guess they'll just have to look at me."

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

Over here we have the Cat Fancy Magazine....
The first issue was published in 1965..
Cat Fancy magazine changed its name to
Catster magazine and became a bimonthly
magazine in 2015..
In 2017, it was bought by Belvoir Media Group
and continues to publish...!

The only trouble with a magazine Precious if
you try and sleep on one, you'll probably
slip off it..with it being so shiny...! :).

Hello dear!
We also have such warehouses in Poland. The most popular one is probably "The Cat", but I don't know if it's still in print. I used to read such newspapers once, they are interesting and you can learn a lot from them :) I am a great lover of newspapers. They have that something :)
I wish you all the best and only joy!
Greetings!

I've never even heard of that magazine, what a great (and funny) magazine it would be. Much smaller market back in the 90s than today, of course. Anyway, that's one to hold on to and treasure!

I remember "Horse of Course" when I was growing up, a magazine for horse lovers/owners. They used to have a pin-up every month in the middle of the magazine (a horse, of course!) and I would carefully take those out and tape them up all over my bedroom walls. Loved that magazine, a lot of good information. :-)

Derry is certainly smaller than a horse, lol.

That magazine is a hoot but I always love seeing sweet Precious the most. Happy Friday you two!

Oh how wonderful Lynn & Precious - that magazine is amazing & the ginger cat on the cover is a bit of a beauty. How fun that would be - I would order a copy each for Pippy & Blackie. I'm away off to my Mums again later today so I may miss some of your posts until I get back - Mum has had another fall. xx

What a cool Magazine! It is a keeper (that is what our Mom says). It must have been a fun thing for the team to put together, it should happen more often. Precious, terrific glamor shot of you. I am going to print your photo and put it over my bed! Jo Jo says Hi! and we hoep you and your Peeps have a marvellously happy day!

A lot of work went into that magazine. Was that a one-time spoof of 'Good Housekeeping', or is it a regularly issued periodical?

There were more but I never saw one to buy again, back in the
day of Borders Book stores.

That magazine's a hoot, and we've never seen that before. And don't worry, Precious, pictures of you are better than ANY magazine in the world!

John Bellen said...

Too bad. A neat idea; they could have come out with one a year or on special occasions.

Love the last photo. It's what cats do and think I'm sure.

I LOVED this. How in the world I missed it I don't know but here mom and I are, loving every page you showed us! Precious, thank you!!!

I wish they would. I'd spend the money for that!

I think your mom was very very sick then. Hope all
is still better.

Trolling

"I wanna make sure you all realize Lynn was not trolling fur fish. She found a troll doll museum next door to the cat museum!" ...
