Trying to get in the spirit

"Lynn, you did all this while I was snoozing under the bed."

I am trying to get into the Christmas Spirit.
I put up the tree Dec. 1.
Angel Peepers has had the top billing since 1994.

I also received my first Christmas card on
Dec. 1.  I have not even gotten out my very
short list and box of cards to think on addressing
anything yet.
I love the religious reason for Christmas. It was
how I was raised and believe in my heart today.
But I have lost the spark for celebrating the
holiday season. Don't know if it is an age thing,
or just me.

"Lynn, tell them you visited the orphans."

Precious is right there, I did get 3 more cat beds
crocheted and delivered along with food and donation.
I could have brought any number of them home with me
if there was a way.

And some of you may have seen that Precious had
a delicious birthday party with Jo Jo. I do believe
Marv and Kozmo made great waiters.  And Cinnamon
was maitre'd.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciate.

  2. Dad says he feels kinda the same about that spark thing, especially these last few years. Nonetheless, we have our little Norfolk Pine all adorned with the grandkids' handmade ornaments again this year. I'm still amazed that mom and dad haven't killed the poor thing yet. Bless your heart, Lynn, on the cat beds. That's awesome!

  3. Precious, you look great there, under your tree. And we love Angel Peepers. :-)

The biped has no holiday spirit, but hasn't in some years. Partly age, partly other factors. Right now it seems that every day she's hearing about someone else passing away suddenly (in their 50s and 60s), or someone else she knows is being diagnosed with cancer, or is scheduled for a biopsy, or blogging cats have passed, etc. Then there is Omicron make headlines now and this whole pandemic seems never-ending. So it's harder and harder to feel any holiday joy, regardless of what one celebrates, or how.

Anyway, we sure hope your human finds a bit of joy every day, even in small ways. Surely YOU are a joy in her life! ♥

  4. We LOVE the cat angel on your tree! We think we should perform surgery on our angel..I bet she would look good as cat...I wonder if Mom would mind...We love that your Mom took gifts to the Orphans. She is so kind, truly the Spirit of Christmas. We are so happy that Precious enjoyed her Princess Party, Jo Jo sure did, she LOVES to do things like that.

  5. I feel the same way. I don't think it's ageing really. I think it is the loss that comes with it. We loose family, friends, pets.
Children grow up ,move away and start their own families.
You don't have to do all the things you used to do. Find the things that have meaning to you. I make gift bags of treats and toys for all my neighbors dogs. I buy a bunch of toys and donate them to toys for tots.
Going to a special mass, driving around seeing the Christmas lights. We can all do something to make someone's Christmas wonderful.
    And warm your own heart.

  6. LOL Love the crowns on the birthday cats' heads. So cute. I'm so grateful for God's blessings and the gift of His Son. That's what inspires me to celebrate Christmas. Hugs.

  7. Ha! I didn't see that Precious visited Jo Jo, but what a great picture, and great festivities. I'll have to see how my new foster-cat, Hector, does with a Christmas tree.

  8. These are such good pictures. I am having a hard time getting in the Christmas spirit too. I made myself put the tree up and decorate the mantle a little. Once I get started I don't want to stop. Got my wreath hung on the front door too. Precious, you and your birthday party friend look amazing. Bet it was lots of fun.
