On flower duty

"I have to be on guard duty to keep the flower pots safe."

"The vizshuz deer must be stopped.  And I am the one to do it.
My fence is magical.  No breaking into the catio furom them."

"But I have to be vigilant.  They can be sneaky, like comin'
'round when I'm nappin'."

"And just look who showed up.  He's a young bun wanting
to eat flowers.  No Way!  And wouldn't you just know it
but one eve when I was fast asleep on Lynn's legs during
our 3 hour time,  a squirrel squeezed under the catio fence
and tried digging in the flower pots.  I missed the whole
thing as Lynn did not wake me up!"

Milk Eggs and Honey

 "Lynn,  what's up with this!"

"You find some of the silliest things to show on my post!"

"These cows don't look all that huggable like me.
And I don't think they are gonna give milk 'cept to
those calves."

"And here you are showing off yer cat stab wounds.
What's with the hole in the ground?"

This is where one of the snapping turtles laid her eggs back in
late May or early June, Precious.

"Lynn,  did those eggs hatch?  I see all the shells.
Did you eat eggs without me!"

No, sadly for momma turtle and her hard work one time
a year,  a hungry racoon found the nest and had one
heck of great egg breakfast.

"And how do you think yer gonna git honey outta those bees?
I don't think Winnie the Pooh is gonna show you the honey
hive tree. Just 'cause you feed 'em sugar water?"

"Egg breakfast!  Now yer talkin'.  Let's eat."

OLD Mother Hubbard (Lynn)

"Lived inna shoe. Had so many caterpillars she didn't know what to do.  Seney's pink swamp milkweed sure has brung us lotsa

caterpillars this year."

I only have two plants in her flower bed, and I keep
finding eggs and even baby pillars that I have missed.
But I actually have not seen that many butterflies!
They must be fluttering by when I'm not looking.

can you see the tiny green speck?  eggs.

"Lookie hoomans, one hatched!"

"They chew non-stop.  Lynn feeds them all they want.
I just git bits atta time."

"They are too close to my box.  What if they invade it?"

"Lynn says she'll keep a paw count and late October
she'll try to 'member to tell you how many.  Fur
me it is Nightmare on Elm street afore Halloween."

She sees some mighty strange critters

"Now mind you folks,  I only see these creatures furom Lynn's photos. I nevfur git out on the bike path to see this.  I'd much rather wait here fur Lynn to come home fur the treats and the brushies."

The snapping turtle may have lain her eggs during
the night and was too cold and tired to move on.
I actually lifted her hind shell a bit off the ground.
She gave no reaction.  So I lifted again and pushed
at the same time.  She did hiss but did not try to
turn on me.  So I budged her a few inches off the
trail.  It was about 52 degrees that morn.

Black Rat Snake

The snake was also cold and did not want to move
when I spotted it too.  So when I tried prodding
it along,  it just wrapped itself around my bike tire.
I finally found a twig to convince it to move on.  These
two were only 50 feet apart that morning.

I see the Llama every time I bike.  But he's rarely this close to
the fence at the path.  He was already starting to grow back
his wool and this photo was taken one cold morning earlier in
the Spring,  when it was too cold too long.

And who doesn't enjoy seeing cows up close.  The llama is there
to protect half dozen mixed cows.  But I doubt there is anything
to bother them except flies.

"I should be the only one in yer photos Lynn.  After all I
am nice and clean and don't need prodding and never
need my wool sheared."
