train station

"Lynn misses seeing trains.  They don't have any around our big little city.  So one day a few months ago I was once again abandoned like an unloved orphan.

She ended up at a city park that has a major crossroads fur trains comin' and goin' north and south and east and west."

And then there was lunch at this very old
dinner that served breakfast and lunch only.
The best meatloaf dinner.

And this mural was on a building catty-corner to the diner.

The control tower is very close by and they
have a speaker for visitors to hear when the
next train is coming thru and what they are
to do on the track.  It was fun to sit inside the
van and watch,  it was a very brisk weather day.

"The best thing, Lynn had me to come home to and warm
her fingers in my grey onesie."

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

Well now! I~Love~Trains....Though l have'nt
been on one in many a long year...I watch
all the train programs on TV...Michael Portillo's
'Great Train Journeys'..and a new one just started
'Griff's Great Australian Rail Trip. The third program
was on, just this Weds. on E4...
And Portillo has been making train journeys all over
the world, for the last twenty years...Great stuff......
All well worth watching, especially the American ones...!

Never mind Precious...I expect Mum told you all about
her trip, and the trains...you may find them a bit noisy,
but there lovely 'BIG' things of beauty...! Woo! Woo! :).

I haven't been on a train for years apart from two restored steam trains that do coastal trips. The mural is lovely.

That was a fun outing! I'm about 2 or 3 minutes by car from our train station, and trains abound! You can hear the whistles from almost everywhere in this small city.

I love that mural, a bonus to see.

Precious, I'm sure Lynn was happy to see you after her jaunt. I hope she brought you a treat or present to make up for the abandonment. 😉💕

Hi Lynn, My husband and I will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. To celebrate we are taking the train from Atlanta to New Orleans in early April. It's a 12 hour train ride, all during daylight hours. We have a little roomette reserved. This will be our 3rd train trip to New Orleans. I'm so excited!

Trains are fun to see but I didn't like seeing them when I was trying to get home from work and one stopped and blocked the crossing forever. You are very patient seet Precious!

Trains are wonderful. They should have more of them, all over the country. And a diner still going strong for ninety years. I'm glad your mum patronises it, Precious.

We have a Canadian National Railway line that runs straight through our city, so we see trains all of the time.
Our local train depot museum http://www.michigantransitmuseum.com/
features Thomas Edison as a boy, who learned to use the telegraph.

Yes I can see you look just like an abandoned unloved orphan there dear Precious, in your grey onesie!!!! Tell Mum there is even a train station in our small rural town, should she ever visit. There is a park bench there so she can sit & watch trains all day long if she likes - I will even bring a thermos!!! I LOVE that mural - it is amazing & very well done. I am on the laptop, no computer yet, the old one worked wonderfully yesterday like nothing was wrong - today it is sulking again. Have a great weekend both of you x0x

Trains are such fun! I wish we could just go back to trains for long distance travel.

Your gray onesie was the perfect way for her to warm up when she came home. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!

As we live in Europe, our #1 takes trains quite a bit. Last week, she drove up to Belgium with a friend but she returned to Paris on the train. It's only one hour and twenty minutes from Brussels to Paris on the high-speed train! In a couple of weeks' time, she will be going to London on the Eurostar train for a few days. She says trains are great!

Trains! Mom LOVES Trains and she used to live right beside a train track and trains went through 6 times a day! She says that she got so used to them they did NOT wake her up. Here in our village, they ripped out the tracks in 1966. Our village had a train war in the early 1900s (https://www.grandforksgazette.ca/opinion/the-old-west-the-railway-war-in-early-bc-cpr-vs-gnr-7345828) and there is a museum in the old train station. Midway is Mile Zero on the Old Kettle Valley Railway. They still run the old trains on the old tracks up in Summerland. One of the highlights of the trip is the train gets "attacked" by "desperados" (which is a ton of fun! Mom really wants to go again this summer). Mom would LOVe to go to the train station with your Peep! Thanks for sharing, you made the old grrl's day!
Keep being awesome! Purrs Marvelous Marv (&Jo Jo & Kozmo & Nutcase & Mom)

Mummy says trains are much more exciting and romantic than aeroplanes. From what We have seen on TeeVee - We think She is right. Her dream holiday is a trip on the Orient Express (but without mystery and mayhem please).

How lovely they have a PA system for visitors. What a grand day out the staff had. Sounds like the best bit was coming home to you, Precious 💙.
Have a wonderful and cosy week.

"warm her fingers in my grey onsie"- Oh Precious, what a delightful way to describe your furriness! That looks like quite the fun outing Lynn had, and that mural sure is awesome. Dad says he grew up with the Boston & Maine line right behind the house in Hatfield, Massachusetts. Hearing and feeling the trains at all hours became part of life. Wonderful post, my dear.

Oh what fun to watch the trains, poor Miss Precious wasn't able to go with you, but she was sure glad to see you! Very fun to see the trains from all directions, and the mural on the wall is beautiful. Many blessings to you!

Hi Precious, we don’t have trains where we live either. When we travel, the train noises scare me. I’m embarrassed that I’m such a scaredy cat! 😘
