Ha! What goes around comes around, Lynn.

"I will tell you, Lynn got a bunch of vaccines in the past 9 days. Now me, I would never volunteer and good thing I do not know what is coming my way on the 23rd."

"Lynn has since plugged in the Feliaway bottle since this
picture was taken first.  Me thinking on the PTU and why
it is all of a sudden sitting on the bedroom floor.  I am
guessing I will not like finding out why."

I have called, and Precious will have her breakfast. And
I hope she likes the calm treats and they help.
I am not going to let them use a needle to extract urine,
but I am going ahead with the blood test.

This was taken during early summer.

"It rained here a bit one morning in the dark of 5:30 AM,
and I went out into it.  Got my furs wet and did not really care.
I even got into my bed tent whilst I was damp."

"Lynn got herself an influenza and 2nd dose of Shingles and
her new Pfizer '23 covid shot.  She said she has never had a
flu shot give her a reaction before, but this one made her ache
and pain and not sleep all night.  Then she got over it the next
morn. She did not get them all in the same day."

Honestly Precious,  I let the pharmacist talk me into some "super"
influenza shot as I am considered old.  I think the regular strength
would have been better.  I will remember this next year!

"I dare you Lynn, I double dare you to tell ev-furry one why
you got those shots.  Oh yes, hoomans, she wanted to
prove to me that shots are OK and not at all bad.
Look what happened to her.  Ha!"

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

  1. Bit of an upsetting post Precious...! And only
two photos of you...Still, just like us humans,
pussy~cats have to have their jabs, help to
prevent catching anything nasty...I had my
Covid, (4th jab), and Flu jab last month..It's
only the second one ever, as l've never had
Flu, or even a cold for that matter...They
suggested l should start, as a couple years
ago, an Australian strain of Flu came into
    the UK..turned out quiet nasty...!

HaHa! Hopefully it's all sorted and your both
back to normal...Well! As normal as you can be..! :O).

    1. Willie, I think I've been getting flu shots for about 30 years. One year it did not cover one kind of flu and I remember how very very sick I got. This is a first time I've ever had a reaction and I hope it never happens again. I am glad that you're getting your shots I do believe they help.

    2. I just don't get colds or Flu for that matter...
So, l never bothered with a Flu jab, though
on my doctors advice two years ago, and
at the age of 74 and because of the Australian
strain, that l should have one, so l did...!
And, l'm lucky again l suppose, l suffer 'NO'
after affects of a jab...of anything in fact...!
Except for a neurological problem in my neck,
which is not life threatening, l'm pretty well
fit...active both mentally and physically, so
l'm not ready to put my feet up, just yet...!

  2. Dearest Lynn,
So sorry for you for having had a negative reaction to your flu shot...
I've not had mine as my weight is only 88 pounds right now.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. I know how life threatening it can be not to weigh enough. I do pray for you that you can gain weight and get your strength back to where it belongs. In the meantime all you can do is try not to catch any bugs that are flying around.

  3. #1 got her flu shot and she was lucky not to have any adverse reaction. She will wait until late November to get the Covid shot so she can make sure to get the latest version.

We hope your own vet visit will go smoothly, Precious.

  4. I got my regular flu shot last Sunday morning, no issues, knock on wood. I did find out from the pharmacist that Health Canada approved the updated Pfizer vaccine at the end of September, but it's not yet available. I will not get another Moderna one, I had a bad reaction (chest pain for a few weeks, never mind the expected flu like symptoms). Oh, I had Shingles a few years ago! The first one left me feeling under the weather for about a day and a half. The second one, three months later, took me out for three days. Not fun! I hope your reaction was nothing like that.

Precious, yes, it's a good thing you don't know what's coming, though of course having the PTU out is a "heads up". I think your appointment is the 23rd, yes? I really hope it goes quickly and smoothly.

  6. I hope all goes well for you, Precious. We had our Covid and flu shots a couple of weeks ago and both had stiff arms from the flu shot. I missed the Covid spring booster because I had a bad feeling about it. I don't know why but I believe in following gut instinct.

  8. I'm sorry you've had bad reactions, Lynn. I do believe some people are more sensitive than others. Precious is beginning to realise something is afoot, poor girl. Our cats always disappear when the cat carrier appears, though if we leave it out for a while, one or other gets into it.

  9. Sorry you had side effects from your vaccines. My hubby got 2 in one day and felt sick for almost a week. Good luck Precious. Brody will be thinking of you. XO

  10. Ha ha ... I think you may have "shot yourself in the foot there a bit Lynn" - trying to prove to sweet Precious that shots are all okay. I don't think it quite worked out. I hope you are feeling okay now - that is quite a dosing of things for your body & yes I hate it when they "consider us old" especially when some of the pharmacists look like my sons age!!! I have had shingles & its not fun so definately a good shot to have.
I am pleased that dear Precious is allowed her breakfast & a good choice NOT letting them extract urine from her. Wishing you both a great weekend - the sun is out here & I am off to move the remaining firewood off the lawn!! 😣 x0x

  11. Isn't it crazy how humans voluntarily get these things? I think her plan to show you that shots are okay backfired on her.

  12. Oh Precious, if only Lynn would listen you you. Hopw you're feeling better Lynn. I keep putting off getting the shingles shot but have had tthe flu shot already.

  13. You are beautiful, Precious. Sometimes we do react a bit to shots, but it's usually much better than the actual illness, I do hope you'll take that into consideration.

Thank you for joining Feline Friday!

  14. Humans are very confusing. We hope she feels better soon.

  15. I would have thought they'd tone down the injections for people as they age, but I guess it has to do with likelihood of bad effects from the illness. As for collecting Precious's urine, is the 'plastic bead' litter a feasible solution?

  16. Paws crossed that your visit to the consultant and the sample collection go smoothly and end up with treats and good things when you get home.
Mrs H got her jabs, not distemper, though I did suggest to the Dr that maybe she should. She ached in the arm for almost exactly a day and a half from the COVID jab. A good sign, she says, and rather that than the full-blown thing and Long Covid. Same with the flu jab too, though the needle hit a nerve on way in.
Have a wonderful and safe week to come!

  17. We are up to date with our various injections now but hubby did indeed catch Shingles - it wasn't pleasant I can tell you. Denise x (Yorkshire, UK)

  18. I can say the flu shots have never troubled me. One did cause ny arm muscle to swell up some but that was all. The covid shot took a great deal of my vision, the first one...thank God I got it back after several days . But that cured me of ever having another. I can't take a chance like that on my vision. I am all I've got. Shingles and pew-many shots swelled up my arm...but...I expected it. I am anxious to know how you did Precious.

  19. I had the latest COVID vaccine late September and my arm hurt SO BAD from it!!! Didn't have that reaction on any of the other vaccines, but the latest one really made my arm hurt! Having my flu shot Friday......I'm due for the Shingles shot too but may wait a bit on that one.

  20. Aww...but it's great that you've had all vaccines. Have a great week!

  21. I think it's wonderful that your Mom gives you a shot at being healthy on a continuing basis. She has even endured the same kind of treatment, herself. I hope you are both feeling better after any side-effects that may have occurred.
