Heisey Glass Museum

 "Well, you can guess that Lynn went off on another one of her jaunts and without me.  But I would nevfur evfur wanna leave my house."

"So off she went one morn and I waited it out safely."

Heisey Glass Company was in business from 1869 until 1957.

The collection at the museum is mostly gifted from collections and there

are thousands of pieces to view.

The building is so beautiful that I wanted to show a bit of 

the inside.

The fee is just $5.00 and you can browse for as long as you wish.

It is 3 stories up and then the basement has a bit of old 

enlarged photos of the factory while working in the 1800's.

As always,  I am glad to finally be home.  This was not that

far away.  In Newark, Ohio.

Hopping into Easter

 "I'm waitin' fur the Easter Bunny to bring me some treats.  And I don't mean jelly beans!"

"I've been gittin' some sunpuddle and sharing it with the

Rabbit family.  I've told mama rabbit I want some real cat treats.

She can give all that candy stuff to some hooman."

"I don't think the Easter Bunny comes down a chimney,

but we don't have one anyway.  I guess I'll leave a door open

and hope it hops in."

Alice in Wonderland

"I invited Alice and her furiends to come have tea with us one day."

"I invited Alice, and the Dormouse and

Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat."

"The Mad Hatter couldn't make it.  He said

he had to many hats in the ring, whatevfur that is."

"So I noshed on some scrambled eggs and then

had a cold drink of water.  I'm not much into tea."

"I kinda zonked out and not sure what time the

pawty ended.  But when I woke up, it was like

it was all just a dream.

This all happened on April first, so I am not

sure if that is part of the problem.

Also, the weather turned on a dime and now

I have been inside looking out and no open

door fur me.  What's the use fur Spring?"

The weather has been typical as sort of Spring and

still winter.  The forsythia are blooming so that means

snow snow snow.  Nothing accumulating,  just means

no warm weather.  However I am glad to 

report the catnip made it through the winter.  With

the aid of a wire fence to keep off all the cats that

roam the yard.  I had to cover it this week for 3 

nights straight to keep it from the freezing temps 

that came back.

Fresh Air does the trick

"Oh my goodness,  I spent 2 1/2 wonderful hours in my catio area!  It was still dark at 5:30 AM  and that's when my eyes see all kinds of critters out there."

"Lynn tried to take pictures of me outside, but

at o'dark thirty and with me wearing my usual

grey onesie,  the film only developed as black."

"And when I finally came in,  I was so tuckered

I lay down on my Christmas silvervine blankie and

sacked out fur an hour."

"I was so tired after even my nap, I finally had to go to my

bed tent fur hours 'til brunch time.  What I don't understand

is how come now Lynn says the weather is not fit fur man

nor beast?  She says it is raining and winding and stuff that

a kitty and her are not going out in."

Thankfully we have not had the snow our northern states have

had,  but it is not warm for more than one day then 3 cold or

wet.  I thought I'd be glad when March was over, but now

April is trying to be trying.

  And you know you can not have all

of that even in one week!

Spring Sprang Sprung

 "Look Lynn!  Chippie came out fur the Spring! He sprang! He

sprung up!"

"Real live Chippie eating apple."

"I wanna catch him!  Lynn's been feeding him fur me.

He's been gittin' butternut and acorn squash seeds when

she cooks these things.  I don't eat either one.  But a 

roasted chippie fur dinner would be good."

"But wait,  this one is not movin'.

"It's an imposter!"

"How did Angel Seney's Chipmunk

souvenir fool us, Lynn?  I thought yesterday

was Spring and now I'm not sure if that is 

real either."

Spring is a funny season, Precious.  We still

have very cold nights below freezing.  But your

Chippie has come out and has run around quite a bit.

He probably is waiting for your catio fence to be

built soon as it is warm enough.

Our Eastern Blue Birds have nested in the box.

 They had 4 successful nests last year.

They live in our yard year round.  I kept them fed in dry meal worms.

Soon and very soon, I hope, I'll have hundreds of 

miniature daffodils blooming.

Shrine visit

 "Now, Lynn did this trip in the fall.  Not much happening in Jan. and

Feb. and March!  Whata winter fur sleepin' and bird feedin'." 

This Catholic Church is in Carey Ohio,

in the north central part of the state.

Built in 1875.  The Statue of the Virgin Mary is to the right

of the church alter in it's own alcove.

This is the Bacilica.

The Church has a many acres with the 

Stations of the Cross to walk and many

statues outside.  This path is over one mile long.

It is a very beautiful very old Church with

pipe organ.  It is a magnificent church and a

real pleasure to see in person.  I knew of for

years, but just not had made the effort to go

and visit.

"I had my own pipe organ goin' when she

walked in the door.  My classic tune of

"where's the food" in C minor, fur cat."
