Thank you fur sharing ideas

"Lynn and I thank you fur yer ideas on calming treat and fur if

I should git food on the day of doom.  Dr. Feelbad visit."

"Since I do not understand what the hulabalu is about
just yet, I am restin' comfortably in my own little world."

Precious goes in for her annual on Monday Oct. 23.
I appreciate your ideas and input. I do have to tell you
the person who took my appointment phone call was
NOT a vet tech.  She freely admitted to being the on-site
dog groomer and a pet sitter.
Therefore I must decide to call back and ask a tech if
the fasting is truly necessary as Precious has been so healthy.
Also, the groomer did recommend I call in and see if I
could pick up a medicine to relax Precious, pill form
or liquid. I know forcing something down her throat
before going will just really make her happy.
I going to get out her soft carrier and spray it with
the Feliaway stuff and let it sit out the next couple weeks.
She really just avoids it when she sees it.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

Poor Precious! If only she could understand it's all for her own good.

Gabapentin is the usual med, I believe. I had some for Derry, but getting it in is the issue. I remember he did get one full dose, once, and boy, was he out of it awhile later.

There aren't any easy solutions for cats, and I will be keeping you both in my thoughts on the 23rd.

Oh! Precious! Don't worry about it to much...
Even we humans have to visit the doctor
sometimes...just for a check up...then, when
you get home, you can sleep for the rest of the
day..and night..! HeHe! :). Bless!x

Precious, tell mom to absolutely call. I don't think there is any reason for you to do without foods. You aren't having surgery. Gabapentin must be administered 2 hours before you leave...so you wouldn't associate it with going. Tell Lynn that my mom has always since day 1 left my PTU out in my room. She tossed treats in it for a few days, I ate them of course...eventually, very soon, I took to napping in it. I still do. If it's always out, there is no fear. XO

I did put out the PTU and plugged in the Feliaway bottle right beside it. Precious has peeked in a time or two so far.

In France, an annual check-up/boosters does not automatically come with a blood test unless one is requested, in which case fasting is necessary. If you have not requested a blood test, there should be no need for fasting.

I think I definately would call back & check with "someone in the know" whether dear Precious needs to be starved Lynn. It doesn't hurt to ask I always think. It is so stressful having to starve her & she doesn't really understand so if they say you don't have to then thats one less thing to stress her. I hope it goes well for you both ... it can be just as stressful for us cat-mums as for our fur babies too I think. I will tell Pippi & Blackie & Little One to say a special cat prayer that it all goes well. xxx

I think it's definitely worth calling to have your questions answered.

Good Heavens, the dog-groomer? Yes, it's best to get a second opinion...

I hope all goes okay with that Vet visit, it can be so stressful for some kitties. Thank you for the kind words on the passing of our sweet Brian. We appreciate your kindness so very much.

I think it is definitely worth ringing again and speaking to a vet tech. A dog groomer wouldn't necessarily know what Precious is coming in for. I hope all goes well for her appointment.

We worry, yet these things always have a way of working out.

Yes, you should ring them back and find out if a pre-examination fast is necessary. Because fasting is definitely Cruel and Unusual Punishment for a kitty.

Good. If you are OK with it, a few treats every day in her sight as you do that, will turn the trick. Soon as she starts napping in it, no need to "seed it" with treats. Just throw them in while she sees you, and walk away without a care -so she won't think "Uh oh!!"

Oh Precious, praying that all these things will work out, and that the dreaded day won't be so bad after all!

Precious, can you send mommy your email address please?

Precious, it has been returned several times. Says domaine not found.

Lynn, I hope Precious won't be too traumatized by her annual checkup. Glad to see she is doing so well. We had to say goodbye to our darling ginger boy 6 weeks ago and I still cry every day. He was nearly 18 and doing so well until several months ago when he got nose cancer.

Thankfully I don't have to give Roary anything to relax him at the Vet. The Vet doesn't bother him (they have Feliway plug ins in the room too but I'm not convinced that Feliway even works. Roary is having bloodwork in November and he always has to fast first, that's why I make the appointment for 7:30 am, that way I can just get up, grab him and leave lol

Tasty treat fur the kitty
