A bit of this and that

"Lynn, are we just doing a picture bloggy today?"

I think that would be a nice change of pace for us, Precious

Snapping turtle who must have walked up about 1/8 mile from
the bridge you see far down the lane, to lay her eggs.

 pink iris.

"rootbeer" iris.

 Astilbe.

Pink lilies

Butterfly Weed, in the milk weed family.
Just a few of the flowers I have around my home.

A barn I see along the highway occasionally, and from the bike
path further southwest of my usual ride.
The barns in Ohio were chosen one per county in 2002 and
painted for 1803/2003 celebration.  This one has held up
well in the weather.  It looks more bleached out from my
angle and direct sun while on the path.

"And me, your grey kitty."

Yep, my favorite of all, Precious.

And we are back to the incredibly uncomfortable heat.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

  1. Goodness! A snapping turtle..although there's no recorded
deaths, they can still bite your finger clean off..the bigger
    ones even a limb..
And did you know, you should 'never' pick one up by the
tail, it can injure the bones in it's back and tail..! :(

We've had some uncomfortable heat over the last few
days to..and more to come to..Phew!

Precious! Tell Mum..l've started to watch another repeat
series of 'Are You Being Served' Mon~Frid..
And Mrs Slocombe is still having trouble with her 'pussy'...

  2. Willie, maybe they will do a rerun of some of the ones when the winter is so cold and that will help you feel cooler.

    1. They actually made 69 episodes..including a Christmas
special..and spin offs were made in Australia and America..
In America it was the same guy that produced and directed
      'Happy Days'...
And..They all died of old age..Nicholas Smith..(Mr Rumbold)
was the last one aged 81..!

I love the program..it's up there with the very best..! :O).

  3. You live in such a pretty area, it looks so peaceful and lovely. A perfect spot to bike or walk. I loved seeing your flowers too; there's no flower I don't like! :-)

Precious, you look lovely as always. We hope you have a terrific weekend; stay cool. We hope you have air conditioning!

  4. Precious! You look fabulishious darling! Wow! What beautiful countryside you live in! And it is so wonderful to see all the flowers and sights. That turtle is cool! We have painted turtles around here, but we don't see them very often. We DID have a tree frog in the garage though, it drove us all nuts as we tried to find him! Mom left the garage open all day so we could try to chase him out! What a loud noise those guys make for being so tiny (the largest one we have seen is only 2" long). Thanks for visiting us! We have missed you! Purrs Marv

    1. Thanks for visiting us! Jo Jo wants you to know that the tunnel is open and she would love to share the view of the river from the bed with you (and the cool breeze through the screen) any day! Purrs Marv

  5. Willie, I am sorry to say that when I rescue a snapping turtle I DO pick it up by the tail...their neck can reach quite a way and I am attached to my fngers But I definitely rescue them (and all other turtles)when they are in the road (and of course take them in the direction they are headed.)

    1. Yes! I even do that with garden snails, once l remove
them from my Hosta's every day, l take them up to
the top of a garden and put them under cover in the
shade, mind you, once in a while, l put about 12 in a box
for two weeks, to purge, then boil, garnish with garlic
      butter and eat...Lovely!

    2. I am like you, and I try to save any snake turtle or animal that needs help across the road. That's more important than letting them get crushed by a car.

  6. I hope that turtle was able to make it across the road all right...

  7. That turtle has to be pretty tired after that long jaunt. Lovely photos and you look fabulous on your Throne sweet Precious!

  9. Oh it worries me to see a poor slow moving turtle along side the road. Hope she made it back to the water safely. You have lots of pretty flowers in bloom. Don't think I have ever seen a pale pink or a rootbeer colored Iris. Those are beautiful!

  10. Precious, tell your human "mom" that in my post today (Monday the 27th), that was the back of Derry's head; Nicki was facing the camera with his tongue stuck out. :-P
