Read All About It! 5 cents a copy

"Dear kitties and puppies,  you 'member when I meowed how cold Lynn got me when she had no power in the bitter cold of March."

"Well, her and the man who rubs my belly, decided right
quick that they never wanted that agin.  It had happened
to us afore, but never like this time. I had my grey
onesie zipped to my chin and I tried to keep Lynn
warm in the evening by staying on her legs my
usual 3 hours.  But we were shivering."

"So once agin,  my purrivacy was invaded and I
spent a whole day hiding  UTB.  These 5 humans
in 3 trucks and 6 hours got us a big noisy box
outside.  This box is supposed to make the furnace
run and the lights on and the food box run."

"Lynn hopes it is not needed but after 13 years
of always gittin' the flash lights out and powerin'
up the phone just incase,  she hopes this is
the future cure."

That's right Precious.  Now I find it funny to think
what all I won't have to do incase of power outage!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and a comment.
It is much appreciated.

  1. Not very nice when the power goes off in
and around your home Precious, l've lived
here in my home for 48yrs now, had the
odd power failure, nothing to serious, once
it went down, the workmen were here to fix
it...and they kept us informed of the progress..!

I control 'ALL' my heating and power in my home,
and only use it, when needed, and as l don't feel
the cold that much, my outgoings in money, is
    quite low...I don't waste energy, as l don't waste
food, and l only pay for what l need, over here in
the UK, they estimate that a normal household,
wastes £800 a month on food, that is scandalous,
the stupidity of some people...! :O(.

    ooooO! All a bit serious to~day Precious..HeHe! :).
Still...all these things have to be sorted, don't they,
and warmer weather is it's way, summat to look
    forward to...Sunshine and all...Bless!x

  2. Good for you! I have been debating a whole-home generator for a few years now, though I think the cost would be prohibitive. Still, I need to look into it, because shy of world annilihation, which, let's face it, is possible, perhaps probable at this rate, climate change and the drain on the Earth's resources will only get worse.

And on that happy note, have a fantastic day and weekend!

  3. Shivering with cold indoors is not good for man or beast - hopefully, those days are behind you now, Precious.

  4. That sure is a wonderful thing sweet Precious. We've had that brand of generator for over 10 years now and it's the best investment we ever made. They work like a charm. Our power went out last night when someone ran their car into a power poll. I counted to 10 and everything came back on.

  5. Lucky you for owning a generator! Losing your power is never fun and it's dangerous in the winter when pipes can freeze. You and your mom and so smart, Precious!

  6. Precious, they know that keeping you comfortable is their most impawtant job, even if it involves people, trucks, and noise.
    You can come out now!

  8. Precious...that is FABULOUS! I would love to, but I am concerned about the decibel level when it's running as both side neighbors are closer than I would like.

  9. Wow! Many of the people in our village have one of those. We have a portable generator that will keep our fridge, freezer and a few other things (like plugin lights and laptops) powered up for a long time. It also has a solar charger that will re-charge the generator in about 8 hours. But your new box is fabulishious! We are so furry happy that it will keep you and your Peeps warm!

  13. Well I will happily pay my 5 cents to read your news sweet Precious. I think that generator is the most wonderful idea - you can never be too prepared I always think. And it's timely because I have just said to The Mr that he needs to get our generator out of the shed today as we are expecting Cyclone Vaianu later tonight & have been given severe weather warnings for our region. I have been removing things from my deck & shall lock 3 furry friends inside for the night & probably tomorrow as well. I think its great that you will be prepared should this happen again & next time you won't have to freeze your little paws Precious. Wishing you both a wonderful weekend. x0x
(ps I should mention that last time we lost power for 8 hours & needed the generator out of the shed - well with the remote garage door NOT working due to no power, we were a little bit out of luck!!)

  14. That's a great idea! My greatest worry in a power outage is the sump pump. I've looked into portable power stations but don't know if it would be powerful enough for my pump.

  15. You are so lucky. We used to have one, but it broke and my husband won't get it fixed- he is cheap. XO

  16. Those are popular here, too, especially for hurricane season. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!

  18. Undependable appliances and power are a great uncertainty for us humans, Precious. I hope this new machine solves the problem.

  19. Being indoors and shivering is not good. I think all the noise and the workmen was worth putting up with for a few hours, and now you and Lynn are guaranteed to have power.
We don't lose power often, but if we do we have a log burner that goes 24/7 through the winter and keeps us warm, and also gives us hot water.
